Manager, Training and Quality Assurance

Cindy Pestrak

I’m a Registered Social Service Worker and Psychological Health and Safety Advisor whose
career focus has been in frontline and leadership roles, mental health promotion, education, and
training within health care and community-based environments. Currently, I serve as Manager,
Training and Quality Assurance for CMHA Ontario’s Your Health Space program, where I
support a skilled team of trainers working to enhance psychological health and safety across
Ontario’s health care sector. What motivates me most is the opportunity to lead with purpose,
support my team’s success, and contribute to meaningful culture change in workplaces that
care for others.

Throughout my career, I’ve remained deeply committed to creating safer, healthier work
environments where employees feel supported, respected, and valued. Whether through
training, leadership, or peer support, I believe in building a culture of psychological safety – where mental health is prioritized, stigma is reduced, and people can truly thrive. This principle guides how I lead and how I show up every day in the work I do.

Outside of work, I find joy in creative expression and connection. I love painting, creating
zentangles, and spending time at the beach. I also volunteer with my local police department as
a Crisis Responder with the Victim Services Unit, supporting individuals during some of their
most difficult moments. Whether it’s through community involvement, cheering on the Jays or
the Leafs, or enjoying live music and theatre with friends and family, I stay grounded by the
things that bring meaning and joy to my life.
