Greg Swaine

I am an acclaimed speaker specializing in workplace mental health, with nearly a decade of experience implementing psychological safety initiatives across various industries throughout Canada. In 2018, I led a team that became Canada’s first Developmental Services Organization to adopt the Canadian National Standard of Psychological Health and Safety. Over the past three years, my focus has been on supporting health care organizations in Ontario to address their psychological health challenges through the Your Health Space program.

I have held frontline, leadership, and Chair of the Board roles, guiding workplace well-being conversations and system implementation throughout my career. As a former medic and palliative care worker, and Chair of the Board of two National Mental Health Nonprofits, I focus on ensuring that everyone understands their unique role in supporting mental health and recognizing the signs of struggle. I am committed to making psychological health and safety accessible to all, regardless of expertise, organization size, budget, or role.

I am a father to two girls and have a partner who shares my passion for the outdoors. I hold an Outdoor Education Certification from Outward Bound and contribute to natural research, which is shared with the Royal Ontario Museum and Cornell University. When not in nature, I live for the duty to serve my community. I do this by serving in Search and Rescue, Community Emergency Response and Humanitarian Work with Rideau Search and Rescue, and as an Educator and Provincial Coordinator with Adventure Smart Canada, teaching wilderness survival to people of all ages. I also work with FireSmart Canada to provide homeowners, communities, and governments with resources and programs to mitigate risks and increase preparedness for wildfires in Ontario.
