I am a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience in health care, working in various roles across acute care, primary care, and public health care settings in both urban and rural areas. My previous roles have always included a component of research, education and empowerment for my clients and patients. I now occupy a role where I can pull from my lived experiences as a health care worker and my enthusiasm for learning to curate meaningful training material to help support health care organizations participating in Your Health Space.

I truly believe in YHS’ work toward supporting health care workers’ mental health and well-being in the workplace. I wish that I had access to a program like this when I was working in a clinical capacity, as it would have helped me better cope with the various challenges that I faced everyday. These occupational stressors are still very relevant in our health care landscape, and I am motivated to do what I can to support organizations in offering accessible and impactful trainings to Ontario’s health care workers.

I draw energy from my surroundings and natural environment. Being outdoors in a natural space helps me feel more open and grounded – for that reason, I like to have greenery and plants when I am indoors. During my month-long travel to Nepal, I discovered the power of mindfulness and meditation. I had the privilege of experiencing the mesmerizing dancing Northern Lights and the Great Canadian Shield when I was working in the Northwest Territories.
