Tania Boman

I am a nurse with extensive interest and education in mental health, focusing most of my 20+ years health care career in that area. I have always been a strong advocate for mental health and wellness, as well as a supporter of adult education, and my role as a Trainer allows me to combine my love of learning and teaching into a job that tangibly supports the health care sector. As a nurse, supporting people through growth and change has been a big part of my ongoing journey, and sharing knowledge around psychological health and safety fits neatly into that compartment.

My commitment to workplace mental health and wellness is shown by my passion around decreasing stigma and increasing connection and conversations around mental health and wellness. By sharing my own stories around moral distress and burnout, I aim to be a role model for other people to feel safe to talk about their own experiences. Through humour and storytelling, I am authentic and genuine, both in my trainings and in supporting organizations along their own journeys to psychological health and safety.

Outside of the workplace, I volunteer with a local organization that facilitates equine therapy for children with autism, which is something I am very passionate about. I also love to learn, and am currently receiving certification in equity, diversity and inclusivity from a Canadian university, to foster my ongoing commitment to anti-racism.
